    Testing build. Expect rough edges. Vommet is an LLM-assisted fork of Commet. Please report problems on this repo's issue tracker, never on Commet's.

    Built from the testing branch at commit 0018079. The Linux and Android files are the ones CI built and tested for this exact commit; the Windows zip was built from the same commit on GitHub's Windows runners. Settings › About shows testing-2026-10-08f.

    Fixes

    • A direct message you just accepted moves to the top of your DM list straight away.
    • Long space and room names wrap in their appearance settings instead of pushing the edit button off a phone screen.
    • Discord-style layout (experiment), on phones: the room's name glides into the pinned row as the banner collapses, instead of showing twice.

    New

    • Clearer subspaces and voice rooms (experiment, Settings › Experiments › Layout and sidebar): subspaces get headers with a guide line, and voice rooms show how many people are in the call.
    • Diagnostics (only if you opted in) now include which experiments you have switched on, from a fixed list of their internal names, so we can tell when one is ready to leave the Experiments page.

    Install

    Linux (Flatpak, x86_64)

    flatpak install --user ./vommet-testing-x86_64.flatpak
flatpak run im.nether.chat

    Android (arm64): download vommet-testing-arm64.apk and open it. It installs as an update.

    Windows (x64): download vommet-testing-windows-x64.zip, unzip it anywhere, and run Release\vommet.exe. Not code-signed yet: SmartScreen warns the first time ("More info", then "Run anyway").

    Known limits

    • Built and tested by CI; not hand-tested yet.
